3rd Annual Take Your Kid To Work Day

25, Nov, 2025

On Tuesday, November 25th, our DFW and LFT offices opened our doors for our annual Take Your Kid to Work Day, bringing kiddos of all ages in to see what mom or dad actually does all day!

The morning kicked off with check-in, office tours, and everyone’s favorite part of any event: swag. Every kid walked away with their own Rudick t-shirt before joining a company-wide welcome that connected both offices over Teams, a fun reminder that even on a day built around fun and games, we’re still one team working toward the same goals.

Building Skills, One Tower at a Time

First up on the agenda: a tower-stacking competition that had our future engineers testing their construction chops early. Whether it toppled or stood tall, every kid got a hands-on lesson in the same principles our crews rely on every day: balance, planning, and a little trial and error.

From there, the group moved into a coloring project, giving everyone a chance to slow down, get creative, and take home a piece of Rudick to keep on the fridge.

Safety First, Always

At Rudick, safety isn’t a poster on the wall. It’s woven into everything we do, and we wanted our kids to understand that too. After lunch, the group took part in a Safety Scavenger Hunt and presentation, complete with a custom safety bingo card. It was a playful way to introduce the next generation to the mindset that keeps our crews protected on every site, every day.

The Main Event: The Concrete Pour Activity

If there was one activity kids couldn’t stop talking about, it was our concrete pour station. Using Rice Krispie treats as “concrete,” pretzel sticks as rebar, mini chocolate chips as aggregate, Rolos for the foundation, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch for flooring (all topped off with a piping bag of icing), kids got to build their own edible structure from the ground up, layer by layer, just like our teams do on real job sites.

Take Your Kid to Work Day is one of our favorite traditions here at Rudick Construction Group. It’s a chance to pull back the curtain for our kids, show them what we build and why it matters, and remind our whole team that the work we do supports the people we love most. From tower stacking to safety scavenger hunts to a very memorable concrete pour, this year’s event was a reminder that the values that guide our jobsites start at home.

Here’s to next year’s group of junior builders. We can’t wait to see what they stack up.
