Rudick Construction History

Rudick Construction Group traces its roots to 1983 when the first Rudick Construction Company was established by Gary Rudick in Lafayette, Louisiana. Today, Rudick Construction Group operates in three cities and two states, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, by Gary’s son, Clay Rudick.   • Gary Rudick Establishes the First Rudick branded Construction Company

    Established in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1983, the first Rudick branded Construction company is formulated by Rudick Construction Group’s Chairman + Founder, Gary Rudick. The company operated wholly from the Rudick family home, in a working space above the garage for the first five years in operation.  While the first formal organization of the brand’s logo has been lost in time, our organization’s first official logo is pictured here.

  • First Institutional Job Complete

    In 1987, Rudick completed Cathedral Carmel’s School Gym, which remains in operation today in the heart of Lafayette, Louisiana. The gym is noteworthy for its “sunken” design, a rarity in the Southern Louisiana architectural landscape.

  • First Formal Office Opens

    In September of 1988, the business moves from the Rudick family home to its first formal office located at 200 Des Jacques Rd, Lafayette, LA 70506. The first building was purchased for $300, an old jobsite trailer renovated by Rudick which housed the first administrative and executive staff. Pictured from the vault, Gary and a foreman clear the property to make way for additional buildings as the business grows.

  • Computers Enter the Building

    Rudick’s first computer enters service and was primarily utilized to support various inter office business related tasks. Fun Fact, Rudick’s active CFO, Jamie Simon, was its first user.

  • First Faith Based Build Complete

    Rudick’s first faith-based delivery took place in Milton, Louisiana with the dedication of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on March 19, 1994 (The Feast of St. Joseph).

  • Cajundome Convention Center Delivered

    Rudick completes and delivers the Cajundome Convention Center a $14 million dollar build and a present-day landmark in Lafayette, Louisiana. The structure was the largest and most technically complex project built by Rudick Construction at time of delivery. In today’s dollars it’s estimated the project would cost in excess of $40 million to complete.

  • Rudick Construction Opens Galbert Location

    After 16 years at the 200 Des Jacques Road location, Rudick moves its Lafayette operation to its current office in Louisiana at 300 Galbert Road. The facility houses Executive, Administrative Staff and Field Operations under a single roof.

  • Rudick’s Texas Operation Opens for Business

    Clay Rudick, following in his Dad’s entrepreneurial foot steps, opens Rudick Construction Group in Dallas, Texas. The operation begins at Clay’s kitchen table with one other employee, Mike Roberts.

  • Rudick Texas signs Community Partners of Dallas

    Rudick Texas mobilizes on Community Partners of Dallas, a renovation project of an existing facility. The non-profit organization provides for the immediate and urgent needs of abused and neglected children. The facility is operating today, completed by Rudick in September of 2018.

  • Office in Energy Square

    Rudick moves into Dallas’ Energy Square to accommodate its growing headcount, which at the time, neared 20 employees. The Energy Square office recently underwent a large expansion project, housing 50+ personnel, with multiple conference spaces available for hosting trade partners, owners and guests.

  • Rudick lands Major Manufacturing Job

    Rudick lands its first eight figure manufacturing job in the DFW Metroplex. The project took place over the course of 18 months and solidified Rudick’s presence as a major General Contractor in the manufacturing sector of the AEC industry.

  • Austin Expansion

    Rudick opens its first office in Austin, Texas and begins chasing projects in the booming metropolitan of Central, Texas.

  • 809 Skyline Groundbreaking

    Rudick’s Austin Operation breaks ground on its first greenfield project since entering the Central Texas market. Rudick landed this project amid heavy competition, as the highly publicized and visually striking project for Rastegar Property Company will connect occupants with the vibrant and growing East Austin community directly on I-35.
