This 18,077 SF gymnasium project provides Berchmans Academy with a new athletic facility designed to accommodate sports, school events, and student activities. The facility incorporates a flexible gymnasium space with supporting athletic and student-use areas, along with durable construction and a cohesive architectural character that complements the Academy’s campus. Notably, the gymnasium is designed as the first mass timber gymnasium in Louisiana, featuring regionally sourced Southern yellow pine glulam, a wood ceiling with curved half-bow trusses for improved acoustics, and extensive glazing that connects the gym to natural light and the surrounding campus.
