Initially built in 1931, interior renovation of the historic Texas Theatre included the addition of a second upstairs screening area with seating for 165 persons complemented by its upstairs full-service bar. The new screening area features state-of-the-art surround sound and hearing and visually impaired device assistance. A chair lift and elevator access complete the fully ADA-compliant space. Additionally, expansion was made to the original auditorium, increasing seating to 670 patrons. While the team carefully archived and restored a piece of American history, the theatre opened multiple times to accommodate Sundance Film Festival showings.
