At Rudick Construction Group, we know the value of family and the importance of building connections—not just on job sites, but within our team and their loved ones. That’s why we were thrilled to host our second annual Take Your Kid to Work Day, a fun-filled event that gave our employees’ children a glimpse into the world of construction and the work their parents do every day.
Warm Welcome
The day kicked off with check-in, where each child was welcomed and given a “Take Your Kid to Work Day” t-shirt designed by our marketing team. Once geared up, the kids explored the office on a guided tour, discovering the spaces where their parents bring projects to life. They then had the chance to connect and spark their creativity by building their own structures with LEGOs. This engaging activity served as both a fun icebreaker and a hands-on introduction to the basics of design and construction.
Creativity Meets Construction
After the tour, it was time to get creative. The kids participated in an ornament-making activity that mirrored actual design plans, using craft supplies to mimic construction materials. It was an engaging way to introduce them to the planning behind building projects while letting them use their imagination. To keep the energy high, the kids also played a round of Rudick Bingo, featuring photos of some of our construction projects.
No day in construction is complete without emphasizing safety, so the kids dove into a lesson on job site safety and the importance of PPE. Following the demonstration, the kids tested their knowledge with a safety trivia game, reinforcing the importance of safety measures in keeping everyone on the job site safe and secure.
The grand finale of the day was an exciting trip to a real construction site. With boots on the ground, the kids saw firsthand what their parents and the Rudick team do daily to turn visions into reality. The experience left them wide-eyed and inspired, and it was a proud moment for our employees to showcase how their hard work comes together.
Take Your Kid to Work Day wasn’t just an opportunity to teach the next generation about our work—it was a chance to foster bonds, spark curiosity, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Seeing the excitement in our employees and their children was a reminder of why we do what we do and who we do it for.
